Are Adsense Templates White Hat Or Black HatI think some merchants are practicing irresponsible and bad habits selling newbies on "white hat" adsense template Crap that isn’t really white hat. And not informing them that they do need to make changes to their “Adsense” templates, or what ever kind of templates" they’re selling you because Google does penalize these templates. Why do I have this idea, simple really, Google will tell you it wants original content, not just in the content body but in the template itself. So that leaves you with only one option change the template!! But how do you change the template?. If you have bought any of these templates you no doubt have a pile of duplicate content to go with them. Like most starting out, I started out about 18 months ago, and got very overwhelmed early on with all the info and I didn't have a lot of money I wanted to throw at it in the beginning. So being that I had more time than money I decided to educate myself. By looking into the templates I did have already on hand. I was using fp2003 (still do) NOW I use X site pro. I made some money online blogging and bought it. But using what I had I learned about html i.e.: what the tags look like the table characters and the likes. I experimented with them changing them about. This is important because if you have an instant Adsense template or any other kind of Adsense optimized template, that you bought from some other place you're going to have to do that or risk leaving a foot print, In other words showing Google that you're using a cookie cutter template that is just like every other template out there. So Google will punish you for it. Then I started to look at the css file that I got with some of these templates and found that it is very much like the html templates in the way it is set up. For example: .nav {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF} .whheading {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; color: #FFffff} .heading {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; color: #FF0000} .text {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11px; font-weight: normal; color: #FFCC33} .text1 {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11px; font-weight: normal; color: #FBE20C} .text2 {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11px; font-weight: normal; color: #70C4FF} .text3 {font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11px; font-weight: bold; color: #ffffff} You can see the font type and weight and size and color, which you can change to best suit your own needs  Look at your Adsense template. What color is the background? (bg) change it. Resize your header Or resize the column widths. Use alt text with your images, rename the photos Basically you can and should change everything. Use different bullets or use bullets if you're not. Change the basic elements like the H1, H2, H3 tags. Use bold fonts, italicize, etc. Basically change everything to better suit your own needs, of course you're more than likely not going to be told this, but you have to do it. I'm not a programmer or anything of the sorts but I have learned to alter the adsense templates from doing it and screwing it up MANY times.
